The Shoemaker Monument Company was established in 1970 by Richard L. Shoemaker to provide quality sales, service, and installation of granite memorials to the people of Blairsville and surrounding communities.
As the years passed, the company has grown and developed relationships with funeral directors and families in Indiana County as well as Western and Central Pennsylvania. In 2007, to better serve the families of Northern Indiana County, the Shoemaker company opened its first satellite office in Indiana, PA. In 2008, Shoemaker purchased Wyse Cemetery Memorials in Mundy’s Corner (near Johnstown) from the Wyse family, who founded the business in 1947. In 2011, Shoemaker purchased the W.H. Kelly and Son Monument Company, which has operated from the same location in Altoona since 1873.
